Firstly we had to remove the multiple layers of paint which had been applied over the years.
To do this whilst minimising any damage to the underlying brickwork we used a specialist safe chemical together with a 150 degree hot steam removal system. We then had to remove the render from the ground floor level which exposed the underlying brick. |
Careful removal of both these elements then left remnants of render and paint on the masonry faces which we 'spun' off with gentle abrasive in order to minimise any damage.
The exposed brick and stone faces were then. repaired using binding restoration mortar to restore any damage or aged brickwork. Finally, the repaired brick and mortar was colour tinted to restore it to the required aged brickwork finish, fitting nicely with the age of the property. |
